Statistically speaking, 65% of our congregations will have suffered trauma in their lives. As preachers narrating the biblical story, how do we avoid inadvertently confirming trauma-related misconceptions of God and of self in the ways we retell the story of God? What are the trauma principles we need to consider as we exegete and preach Scripture? How do we see Jesus practicing trauma-informed care in his ministry to the Samaritan Woman? We will be discussing how to implement trauma-informed hermeneutical tools as preachers of God's Word.
