We are accustomed to experiencing and imaging God as Father, yet scripture also gives plentiful witness to God's loving care as Mother. How do we experience this fierce, protective tenderness of God, and how does it shape us? As we learn to receive and appreciate the way God acts as a mother to us, we are able to name and honor the sacred work of mothering done by women all around us -whether they are raising children or not. In this workshop, we will explore the sacred work of Mothering that begins in God, and God's invitation to all women to join that work. This is an important conversation for men and women pastors as we attempt to image the fullness of God well in our congregations.
